Govt denies reports of targeted deportation of Pakistanis from UAE

The Ministry of Interior on Friday dismissed reports circulating on social media and in sections of the media regarding alleged targeted deportations of Pakistani nationals from the United Arab Emirates, saying no evidence exists to support such claims.

In an official statement, the ministry described the reports as “malafide” and part of a “vicious propaganda campaign,” rejecting assertions that the UAE or any other country was deporting individuals on the basis of nationality or sectarian identity.

According to the ministry, a review of available data found no indication of nationality-specific or sect-based deportation practices.

The statement clarified that deportations carried out by host countries are generally part of standard immigration enforcement procedures under local laws and typically involve issues such as visa overstays, incomplete documentation or illegal residency status.

The ministry also said Pakistani nationals who fulfil visa and employment requirements continue to travel to and secure work opportunities in the UAE and other friendly countries without discrimination.

Rejecting what it termed “fake news,” the ministry said such reports were being circulated with malicious intent and ulterior motives.

It added that any issues involving Pakistani citizens abroad are addressed individually through established diplomatic channels by the Foreign Office.
