Pakistan remittances rise to $3.54 billion in April, reach $33.86 billion in 10 months

Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.54 billion in remittances home during April 2026, up 11.4% year-on-year but down 7.6% compared to March, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday. 

Cumulatively, remittances during July-April FY26 rose 8.5% to $33.86 billion compared to $31.21 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Workers’ remittances remain a key source of support for Pakistan’s external account and household incomes, while the government continues encouraging inflows through formal banking channels and incentive schemes.

Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances during April, with overseas Pakistanis sending $842 million. The amount was 16% higher than inflows recorded a year earlier, although it declined 8% from March.

Inflows from the United Arab Emirates stood at $735 million in April, up 13% on a yearly basis but down 11% compared to March.

Remittances from the United Kingdom reached $564 million during the month, lower than the $587 million recorded in March.

Pakistanis living in the United States sent $318 million in April, down 11% from March inflows of $359 million.

Meanwhile, remittances from European Union countries increased 4% on a monthly basis to $432 million from $414 million in March.
