South Air’s first ATR 72-500 aircraft arrives in Pakistan

South Air has received its first ATR 72-500 aircraft in Pakistan ahead of the launch of commercial flight operations planned for June 2026, according to media reports. 

Officials said the aircraft arrived under the TPRI project, which aims to promote tourism and improve regional integration through expanded air connectivity.

Authorities described the development as part of broader efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s aviation sector and improve transport links between regional destinations.

The airline is expected to start operations next month, marking its entry into Pakistan’s regional aviation market.

Officials said the initiative could support economic activity in regional areas, create employment opportunities in the aviation sector and improve commercial connectivity across the country.
