Pak Suzuki launches biogas, solar power facilities at Karachi plant

Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has launched a biogas plant and a solar power generation facility at its manufacturing plant in Karachi as part of its clean energy and carbon reduction initiatives.

According to the company, both facilities had started operations at its Karachi manufacturing site. The biogas plant has a production capacity of 100 cubic metres per day, while the solar power facility has an output capacity of 920kW.

The company stated that the biogas plant uses Napier grass, which is widely available in Pakistan, along with waste generated from company cafeterias.

The biogas facility covers an area of 360 square metres at the Karachi plant.

Meanwhile, the solar power system is expected to generate around 1,395,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

Managing Director Hiroshi Kawamura said the projects reflected the company’s efforts to integrate clean energy into its operations and support environmentally friendly manufacturing practices.

Pak Suzuki said it would continue pursuing environmental initiatives suited to local conditions in Pakistan as part of broader sustainability goals.
