Pakistan’s food exports fall 32% to $4.19 billion in first 10 months of FY26

Pakistan’s food commodities worth $4.190 billion were exported during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, compared to exports recorded in the corresponding period last year.

Food group exports during the period under review declined by 32.2% from $6.164 billion recorded during the same period of the previous financial year.

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), more than 3.579 million tonnes of rice worth $1.879 billion were exported during July-April FY26 compared to exports of 5.085 million tonnes valued at $2.963 billion in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Basmati rice exports stood at $668.380 million compared to $722.709 million during the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the period under review, 629,638 metric tonnes of Basmati rice were exported compared to 702,626 metric tonnes in the same period last year.

In the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, the country earned $1.211 billion through exports of more than 2.949 million metric tonnes of non-Basmati rice compared to exports of 4.283 million metric tonnes worth $2.241 billion in the same period last year, the data revealed.

During the period under review, around 175,397 metric tonnes of fish and fish preparations valued at $393.387 million were exported compared to exports of 171,886 metric tonnes worth $370.892 million in the corresponding period last year.

Exports of fish and fish products during the period under review increased by 6.07% compared to the same period last year.
