Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has signed Production Sharing Agreements and Exploration Licenses for eight offshore blocks awarded under the Pakistan Offshore Bid Round 2025, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.
The agreements were signed on May 20, 2026, in the presence of the Federal Minister for Petroleum, marking the reopening of Pakistan’s offshore exploration frontier after nearly two decades.
The portfolio includes two blocks to be operated by PPL, Gharo Creek and Kochi Creek, along with six partner-operated blocks, including Bin Qasim South, Keti Bandar, Behr, Zarrar, Offshore Deep D and Sapat Bandar.
According to the company, the offshore blocks are located in the Indus and Makran offshore basins adjoining the territorial waters of Sindh and Balochistan.
PPL said the development represented a step towards unlocking Pakistan’s offshore hydrocarbon resources and reflected renewed activity in the country’s exploration sector.
The company had earlier informed the exchange on November 13, 2025 regarding the provisional award of the blocks.
