Customs moves to update import valuation for ceramic sanitary ware

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has initiated a revision exercise for customs values on imported ceramic and porcelain sanitary wares, according to an official notice issued on Saturday.

The process has been launched under Section 25A of the Customs Act, 1969, aimed at updating valuation benchmarks in line with prevailing international market conditions and ensuring a transparent assessment framework.

As part of the exercise, a stakeholder meeting has been scheduled for June 4, 2026, at the Custom House Karachi.

The meeting will be chaired by the Director or Additional Director of the Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi and will include importers, trade bodies and other concerned stakeholders.

Participants have been invited to submit written input along with supporting documentation, including import invoices, goods declarations (GDs), letters of credit or contracts, international price references, manufacturer or exporter price lists or catalogues, market survey data where available, and other relevant evidence.

Officials said the consultation process is intended to support a reassessment of customs values for ceramic sanitary ware imports in line with evolving global pricing trends.
