Ogra allows Parco to export 100,000 MT furnace oil in June

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has allowed Pak Arab Refinery Limited (Parco) to export 100,000 metric tonnes of furnace oil in June 2026, with the approval linked to domestic demand requirements, according to an official communication issued by the regulator, The News reported.

The approval was granted by the National Committee on Monitoring of Commodities (NCMC) during a meeting held earlier this month.

Under the decision, Parco may export 100,000 metric tonnes of furnace oil with a tolerance of plus or minus 10%.

Ogra advised the refinery to maximise its loading rate so that the cargo can sail within the designated discharge window, the document said.

Industry officials said furnace oil exports had become necessary to reduce stocks and keep refinery operations running as Pakistan’s power sector continues to shift towards alternative fuels.

Ogra has issued similar export approvals to other refineries in recent months.

Such approvals remain subject to local upliftment requirements and oversight by relevant government authorities to ensure the domestic fuel supply is not affected.
