OGRA raises LPG price 1.63% for June, domestic cylinder exceeds ₨3,600

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices by 1.63% for June 2026, raising the cost of a standard domestic cylinder above ₨3,600, according to the regulator's notification.

The consumer price of LPG has been fixed at ₨308.76 per kilogram for June, compared with ₨303.80 per kilogram in May. The revised prices came into effect on June 1.

Following the increase, the price of an 11.8-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder has risen by ₨58 to ₨3,643.40, while the price of a 45.4-kilogram commercial cylinder has increased by ₨225 to ₨13,886.

The latest adjustment extends a series of price increases witnessed since the start of the Middle East conflict. According to official figures, LPG prices have increased by a cumulative 36.7% during the period, equivalent to ₨82.90 per kilogram and ₨978 per domestic cylinder.

The sharpest increase was recorded in April, when LPG prices rose by 35%, adding ₨78.28 per kilogram and ₨924 to the price of a domestic cylinder in a single month.

The increase affects domestic consumers as well as restaurants, commercial users and small businesses that rely on LPG as a primary fuel source.

OGRA's pricing structure shows that the final consumer price includes a petroleum levy of ₨4,669 per tonne and general sales tax (GST) of ₨40,799 per tonne. The GST component has increased significantly from ₨26,553 per tonne in March.

An additional 18% GST amounting to ₨6,300 per tonne is also charged on marketing, distribution and transportation margins, which total ₨35,000 per tonne.
