Pioneer Cement approves installation of 28.3MW solar power plant at Khushab facility
Company says project is to be funded through internal cash flows and is expected to begin commercial operations in the second quarter of FY2026-27

Pioneer Cement Limited has approved the installation of a 28.265-megawatt solar power plant at its manufacturing facility in Chenki, Jauharabad, District Khushab, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The company said its board of directors had approved the project as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and reduce energy costs.
According to the disclosure, the solar power plant is expected to be commissioned and commence commercial operations during the second quarter of FY2026-27.
Pioneer Cement said the investment would be financed entirely through the company's own cash flows.
The company added that the project aligns with its long-term strategy focused on operational performance, sustainability and value creation for shareholders.
Once operational, the solar facility is expected to generate significant savings in energy expenses and increase the company's reliance on renewable energy sources.
