Raw cotton exports rise 199% to earn Pakistan $2.6 million in July-May FY26
PBS data shows Pakistan exported 1,550 metric tons of raw cotton during the first 11 months, while cotton yarn exports increased 13.35% to $701.1m.

Pakistan’s raw cotton exports increased by 199.20% during the first 11 months of the current financial year compared with the same period last year, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
During July-May 2026-27, the country exported 1,550 metric tons of raw cotton worth $2.606 million, compared with 433 metric tons valued at $0.871 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Cotton yarn exports also rose during the period under review. Pakistan exported 284,150 metric tons of cotton yarn worth $701.096 million, up 13.35% from 230,941 metric tons valued at $618.353 million last year.
Imports of agricultural machinery and implements increased by 24.76% in the first 11 months. Machinery worth $123.781 million was imported, compared with $99.214 million in the same period last year.
Agricultural chemical imports rose 4.92% to $9.336 billion, compared with $8.898 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Fertiliser imports stood at 939,261 metric tons, valued at $539.675 million, during the July-May period. In the same period last year, Pakistan imported 929,474 metric tons of fertiliser worth $576.116 million.
However, imports of manufactured fertiliser declined by 6.33% during the 11-month period compared with last year.
Insecticide imports increased by 31.71%, with 41,798 metric tons imported at a cost of $188.892 million. This compared with 29,496 metric tons worth $143.417 million in the same period last year.
Imports of plastic materials also increased. Pakistan imported 2.189 million metric tons of plastic materials worth $2.561 billion during the first 11 months, compared with 1.967 million metric tons valued at $2.455 billion last year.
