Pakistan’s textile exports remain stagnant at around $17 billion in FY26
Readymade garments rise 3.87% and cotton yarn 12.40%, while June textile shipments fall 16.71% year-on-year

Pakistan’s textile exports rose slightly by 0.26% to $17.93 billion in FY2025-26, compared with $17.88 billion a year earlier, provisional data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics showed.
The increase was led by readymade garments, which grew 3.87% to $4.288 billion from $4.13 billion.
Cotton yarn exports climbed 12.40% to $765 million from $680.7 million, while exports of other textile materials increased 8.67% to $790.86 million from $727.7 million.
Raw cotton exports rose 199.20% to $2.6 million from $0.871 million, although the category remained small in value terms.
Several major textile products recorded declines during the year.
Knitwear exports fell 0.88% to $4.966 billion from $5.01 billion, while bedwear exports edged down 0.01% to $3.112 billion from $3.113 billion.
Towel exports declined 1.93% to $1.06 billion from $1.082 billion, while cotton cloth exports dropped 7.55% to $1.672 billion from $1.808 billion.
Exports of made-up articles, excluding towels and bedwear, decreased 0.71% to $770.3 million from $775.8 million.
Tents, canvas and tarpaulin exports fell 3.81% to $120.11 million from $124.8 million.
In June 2026, textile exports fell 16.71% year-on-year to $1.267 billion from $1.521 billion.
Pakistan’s overall exports stood at $2.252 billion in June, down 16.25% from $2.689 billion in May and 9.08% lower than $2.477 billion in June 2025.
For the full fiscal year, total exports declined 5.93% to $30.139 billion from $32.040 billion.
Imports, meanwhile, increased 8.14% to $69.761 billion from $64.507 billion.
The country recorded a trade deficit of $4.679 billion in June, while the cumulative deficit for FY2025-26 reached $39.622 billion.
