Punjab govt abolishes 30,391 vacant school education posts across BPS-1 to BPS-18

The Punjab government has approved the abolition of 30,391 vacant posts in the provincial School Education Department, spanning Basic Pay Scale 1 to BPS-18 and include teaching, non-teaching and Class IV positions.

As per media reports, Chief Executive Officers of all District Education Authorities have been authorised to abolish the vacancies and issue the required notifications by July 31.

District-level implementation has already begun, with notifications issued in Lahore and Jhang.

In Lahore, 1,270 vacant posts have been abolished, while Rawalpindi is expected to remove 1,594 posts.

The remaining districts are expected to issue similar notifications during the coming week.
