The Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement) in Multan has seized goods worth Rs481.949 million during the first 17 days of October 2025, marking a significant achievement in Pakistan’s anti-smuggling drive.
According to a press release from Pakistan Customs, one of the major operations took place near Ghala Mandi, Multan, where a Mazda truck was intercepted carrying foreign-origin goods, including cigarettes and betel nuts, concealed under crushed animal bones. The subsequent investigation led to a raid at a warehouse in the industrial area, where additional contraband items worth Rs14.890 million were recovered.
In another operation, a Hino truck transporting fresh apples was stopped at JCP Sakhi Sarwar. Upon inspection, 104 foreign-origin inverters, valued at Rs13.200 million, were discovered hidden beneath the fruit baskets.
Further, during routine checks at JCP Trimman, a smuggled Kawasaki Ninja heavy bike worth Rs2.200 million was found in the luggage compartment of a passenger bus traveling from D.I. Khan to Karachi.
These successful operations underscore the vigilance and professionalism of Pakistan Customs, particularly the officers at the Multan Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement). Their continued efforts aim to combat smuggling, curb tax evasion, and safeguard national revenue, reinforcing the government’s commitment to effective border control and fair trade.
