International digital printing exhibition opens today targeting Rs 25 billion deals

Around Rs 20 to Rs 25 billion deals are expected to be done during the second three-day International Digital Printing and Signage Technology Exhibition (DPS World 2016) being inaugurated on Tuesday (today) at Expo Centre, Karachi.

Around 100 companies with 12,000 delegates and principals from 15 countries, such as China, Germany, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore and Taiwan are participating in this premier digital printing exhibition which will be open till August 25.

This was told by M Saleem Khan Tanoli, the FAKT Group CEO, at a press conference held at Expo Centre on Monday to brief media persons about significance and impacts of the exhibition on the national economy.

He was joined by DPS world 2016 leading exhibitors from international and local brands, including Imran Abdulla, CEO Grapho Scan and Ghulam Farooq Sitara, the CEO of the Farooq Sitara International.

Saleem Khan Tanoli said that more than a dozen business deals and agreements would take place within three days calculating around Rs 1 billion. “Last year in first DPS World, around 700 million rupees deals were done. DPS World 2016 is going to be the second consecutive event serving as a ground breaking platform for uniting potential exhibitors and visitors engaged in digital printing and signage business from across the globe. This event is deemed to be the first full-fledged exhibition in Pakistan focusing this particular sector which needs immediate attention of the concerned authorities in order to further expand locally and internationally,” he stressed.

“Many companies have brought their most sophisticated and costly equipment in this exhibition for the first time. World of digital printing and signage is progressing with each passing day in the world and we are happy to see these advancements in Pakistan too. Pakistan is heading ahead of all SAARC countries in this field in terms of latest technique and investments,” he said.

Tanoli told media that DPS World conference expected to unite individuals from signage and printing industry of Pakistan as well as international industries, to impart latest research, modern strategies, new mechanical improvements and offerings of advanced products, and much more. “This conference will gimmick trade of most recent specialised data, dispersal of the extra ordinary explorations to help visitors benefit from the vast experience of the speakers. FAKT exhibitions believe in evolution. We actively seek out new ways to shape B2B & B2C events as the most accredited platform beneficial for domestic businesses and international trade,” he added.

Imran Abdullah said that the digital printing technology was a new way to resonate with the demands of industry and Pakistan had huge potential to thrive in this sector. “Pakistan is a fast growing economy and predicted to have growth rates well above five per cent until 2020. Among Pakistan’s advantages are an abundance of raw material, CSR focused business strategies, relatively inexpensive and well-qualified labour, state-of-the-art vertically integrated set-ups and manufacturing facilities, design expertise and qualified human resource. Pakistan’s strength lies in the vertical integration of the industries in different sectors,” he added.

Ghulam Farooq Sitara said that there was no doubt that this technology catered to the consistently evolving industry in the field of signage and digital printing, adding that there were boundless opportunities in digital printing not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world.
