Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, central chairman of the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) is reported to have said that CNG prices are likely to go down as the petrol prices continue to follow an upward trend. Increase in consumption of CNG is likely to be of benefit to consumers, environment and the people involved in gas business.
Paracha further added that falling oil prices had caused many motorists to shift to petrol but now the situation is turning in favor of CNG users once again.
The chairman revealed that work is under way on introducing a new technology which will be more efficient leading to an increase in mileage and will be cost efficient for motorists. He added that new lightweight gas was being introduced that would benefit the CNG consumers. The solution is likely to improve the efficiency of the overall system.
The CNG sector is once again taking off as many people are preferring gas to petrol. A long queue at CNG stations in Punjab is a proof of this, he added.
Paracha further stated that the ban on import of CNG kits created a demand-supply gap so much so that 2 million cars could have been converted into CNG.
