ECC approves export of 200,000 tons of sugar

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in its meeting held on Tuesday has approved the export of 200,000 tons of sugar. The meeting was chaired by Ishaq Dar.

The ECC also approved public sector procurement of wheat for 2016-17 crop against the target of 7.05 m tons.

The Committee gave the approval to extend applicability period of reduced rate of withholding tax of 0.4 pc on banking transactions of non-filers up to 30th of June this year.

It also accorded approval for disbursement of one month’s salary worth Rs 380m rupees for December last year for employees of Pakistan Steel Mills, Karachi.
