SBP to announce monetary policy on Nov 24

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will announce Monetary Policy through a Press Release on Friday. This was stated in an SBP statement issued here on Wednesday.

Earlier this month it was learnt that the monetary policy committee minutes were released and despite external vulnerabilities, 8 out of 9 members voted to keep the interest rate at 5.75 per cent.

According to an English daily, the decision making is mainly influenced by the Forecasting and Policy Analysis System (FPAS) of the SBP which is still implying that there is some room for a rate cut.

Amidst the political and economic challenges the nation is currently facing, the monetary policy is much awaited.
