SSGC disconnects 2,000 illegal gas connections in Kotri, uncovers Rs10 million monthly theft
Operation in Kotri Site and Khuda Ki Basti targets illegal gas network, seizes pipelines and equipment used to siphon gas.

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has disconnected around 2,000 illegal gas connections during a large-scale operation against gas theft in Kotri Site and Khuda Ki Basti, uncovering losses estimated at Rs10 million per month.
During the operation, SSGC teams seized thousands of metres of rubber gas pipes and clips allegedly used to divert gas through illegal connections.
According to company officials, a group involved in gas theft had tampered with 4-inch and 6-inch main gas pipelines by installing clips to siphon gas, which was then supplied illegally.
Senior General Manager Sindh-Balochistan Madni Siddiqui said the theft was taking place in illegal residential colonies in Kotri.
"We have caught 2,000 households with illegal gas connections. Gas theft was causing a loss of Rs 10 million per month," Siddiqui said.
He added that weak enforcement and lenient laws against domestic consumers were contributing to the rise in gas theft.
