Sale of cars decreases by 47.8%, motorbikes by 3.5% in Jan 2020

LAHORE: The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has claimed that sale of cars decreased by 47.8 percent while sale of motorbikes declined by 3.5 percent in January 2020 as compared to their corresponding period last year, pakwheels.com reported.

The decline reported by the manufacturers was largely in line with the historical year-end phenomenon, where consumers generally delay their purchases until the new year.

On the other hand, prices of cars have increased many fold in the absence of any regulatory body from the government’s end and the consumers are left with no choice but to buy expensive cars. Almost all major automakers in the country including Pak Suzuki, Toyota Indus, and Honda Atlas have increased prices of their cars.
