NLC, DP World ship over 1,000 containers to Bangladesh since October

Container service between Karachi and Jebel Ali is set to commence on January 13

Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and Dubai-based multinational logistics firm, DP World have shipped over 1,000 containers between Pakistan and Bangladesh since launching the first direct shipping route between the two countries in October 2024, APP reported.

This initiative aims to further strengthen trade ties and enhance regional connectivity in South Asia.

Container service between Karachi and Jebel Ali is set to commence on January 13, with the first NLC vessel, having a capacity of 1,100 TEUs, scheduled to operate.

A second vessel of similar capacity will be added by the end of January, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

Additionally, an edible oil vessel is planned for February 2025, further expanding the scope of this collaborative effort.

This strategic partnership marks the beginning of a transformative phase in regional trade.

The collaboration between NLC and its regional partner goes beyond logistics, serving as a foundational step towards fostering economic growth, promoting shared prosperity, and driving progress throughout the region.
