PSX extends trading suspension in Trust Investment Bank, Safa Textiles shares
Companies fail to rectify regulatory defaults even after 60-day window; K-Electric Sukuk trading also halted for book closure

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has extended the suspension of trading in the shares of Trust Investment Bank Limited and Safa Textiles Limited, after the companies failed to remove the causes of suspension flagged earlier this year, according to a notice issued by the bourse.
In the notice, the PSX said it was acting further to its earlier Notice No. PSX/N-645, dated May 22, 2026, on the matter. It informed all concerned that the two companies had "not so far removed the cause(s) of suspension of trading in their shares."
According to the notice, Trust Investment Bank Limited defaulted on PSX Regulations 5.11.1(b)(c)(d)(h) and 5.11.2(a). The reasons cited include failure to hold Annual General Meetings, non-submission of Annual Audited Financial Statements, non-payment of dues to the exchange, cancellation of its IFS license by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and an SECP order initiating winding-up proceedings against the company.
Safa Textiles Limited was found in default of PSX Regulation 5.11.1(b)(c)(d), for failing to hold Annual General Meetings, not submitting Annual Audited Financial Statements, and non-payment of dues to the exchange.
The PSX said trading in the shares of both companies will remain suspended until the causes of suspension are rectified, or for a further period of 60 days effective from July 24, 2026, whichever comes first.
The decision was taken under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.
K-Electric Sukuk trading also suspended
In a separate notice dated July 24, 2026, the PSX said trading in K-Electric Limited's Sukuk, KELSTSC, will be suspended from July 27, 2026 to August 3, 2026, and will resume on August 4, 2026.
The suspension follows K-Electric's announcement of Book Closure dates from July 28, 2026 to August 3, 2026, for the profit payment of the Sukuk.
