Light Commercial Vehicles, van, and jeep production in Pakistan surges by 74.60% in FY 2024-25

A total of 36,807 LCVs, vans, and jeeps were produced; truck output reached 4,366 units, buses totaled 796 units, and tractor production dropped by 35.56% to 28,607 units

LAHORE: The production of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), vans, and jeeps in Pakistan has witnessed a 74.60% increase during the fiscal year 2024-25 compared to the previous fiscal year.

A total of 36,807 LCVs, vans, and jeeps were manufactured during July-June (2024-25), compared to 21,080 units produced in the same period of 2023-24, according to official data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

During the review period, truck production also rose significantly, from 2,204 units to 4,366 units, reflecting an increase of 98.09%. Bus production surged by 89.97%, rising from 419 units to 796 units.

However, the production of farm tractors declined by 35.56%, falling from 45,821 units last year to 28,607 units this year.

The production of cars increased to 111,402 units this year, up from 79,594 units last year, while the output of motorcycles and three-wheelers rose from 1,150,090 units to 1,514,718 units, marking an increase of 31.70%.
