The milestone marks a 26.4% growth, driven by strategic reforms and government leadership

ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of IT and Telecom Pakistan announced that the country’s IT, ITeS, and freelancers’ exports have reached a record $4.6 billion for FY 2024-25, reflecting a 26.4% growth from the previous year. This achievement is a direct result of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s strategic leadership and a whole-of-government approach to boosting the sector.

Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the Ministry of IT and Telecom focused on positioning Pakistan on the global map by enhancing its presence in international markets. Significant investments were made in talent development and infrastructure to support a skilled workforce and a robust technological framework. Alongside this, the government implemented policies to protect and support the industry, creating an environment conducive to growth and innovation. Ensuring stable high-speed internet access for businesses also played a key role in facilitating seamless digital operations.

Furthermore, the government’s push for national digitization, particularly initiatives aimed at fostering a digital economy and promoting cashless transactions, further strengthened the tech sector. These combined efforts have enabled Pakistan’s tech companies, startups, freelancers, and remote workers to make significant strides in the global market.

This record growth underscores the impact of visionary leadership and strategic policymaking, with Pakistan’s tech industry now firmly established as a growing force on the global stage, supported by a strong telecom infrastructure.
