CM says each model village will have a 24/7 water supply, a complete sewage network, and a waste management treatment plant

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday chaired a special meeting to review progress on the province’s Model Village, Suthra Punjab, and Waste to Value projects.

Officials briefed the chief minister on the development of 1200 model villages across Punjab. They informed her that the pilot phase covering 130 villages has been completed.

The chief minister reviewed details of solar-powered water supply and sewage systems designed for the villages.

She said each model village will have a 24/7 water supply, a complete sewage network, and a waste management treatment plant. She added that the villages will also include paved streets, road rehabilitation, tree plantations, and children’s parks.

Houses in these villages will be numbered and signboards will be installed.

CM asked authorities to provide a deadline for the early completion of the project. She said priority in the project will be determined based on the specific public needs of each area.

She added that every village will be fully developed under the Model Village Project.
