Turkmen, EU envoys explore deeper cooperation in energy and development

Meeting in Islamabad highlights TAPI, TAP projects and shared vision for regional connectivity

Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Atadurdy Movlamov, and the European Union’s newly appointed envoy to Pakistan, Raimundas Karoblis, met in Islamabad to discuss expanding cooperation on sustainable development, economic partnerships, and regional connectivity.

During the meeting at the Turkmen Embassy, Ambassador Movlamov congratulated Karoblis on formally presenting his credentials to the President of Pakistan a day earlier, extending best wishes for his diplomatic mission.

The two diplomats reviewed opportunities for collaboration across multiple fields, with Movlamov briefing his counterpart on Turkmenistan’s flagship regional projects — the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line. He underlined that these initiatives form crucial links in the regional energy landscape and carry strong potential for international cooperation.

Concluding the talks, both ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue and deepening mutually beneficial ties in the years ahead.
