Cotton arrivals in Pakistan have surged by 40% year-on-year (YoY) as of mid-September 2025, according to data from the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA).
Sindh led the charge with arrivals reaching 1.31 million bales, a significant increase from 0.9 million bales in the same period in 2024. Punjab, another major cotton-producing province, saw its arrivals rise to 0.69 million bales, up from 0.54 million bales in mid-September 2024.
While the increased arrivals are a positive development, the country’s overall cotton output remains 49% lower than last year, reflecting ongoing challenges in the sector. This decline is further underscored by the recent data showing a 0.34% drop in textile exports to $1.4 billion in August 2025, highlighting the long road to recovery for the cotton industry.
