The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Jazz–VEON have bolstered their partnership to improve disaster monitoring, early warning systems, and resilient communications, aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s readiness against climate-related and natural disasters.
The initiative focuses on leveraging predictive AI models, real-time alerts, and digital infrastructure to protect lives and livelihoods.
A senior delegation, led by Kaan TerzioÄŸlu, CEO of VEON Group, and Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at NDMA Headquarters, where they were received by Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik.
During the visit, NDMA officials highlighted the NEOC’s advanced capabilities and discussed future technology-driven solutions to improve disaster resilience.
The NDMA–Jazz collaboration has already provided over 300 million early warning alerts for floods, rains, and heatwaves, in addition to offering active relief support during major disasters.
The delegation praised NDMA’s proactive approach and emphasized the critical role of private sector collaboration in strengthening national disaster preparedness.
