Power Cement partners with Burj Clean Energy Modarabah for 7.5 MW wind power project

Agreement aims to reduce energy costs and dependence on fossil fuels in the cement sector

Power Cement Limited (PSX:POWER) has signed an agreement with Burj Clean Energy Modarabah (BCEM) to establish a 7.5-megawatt wind power project at its plant site.

BCEM has secured financing of Rs 1.5 billion from a consortium of banks to fund the renewable energy initiative. The project aims to reduce Power Cement’s energy costs and decrease its reliance on fossil fuels, as revealed in the company’s filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

This initiative is part of Power Cement’s long-term strategy to promote sustainability and environmentally responsible practices within Pakistan’s cement industry.
