Overseas workers’ remittances to Pakistan rose to $3.59 billion in December 2025, according to data released on Friday by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The inflows were 16.5% higher than in December 2024, when remittances stood at $3.1 billion.Â
On a monthly basis, remittances increased by 13% compared to $3.2 billion recorded in November.
During the first half of fiscal year 2025–26, remittance inflows totalled $19.7 billion, reflecting an 11% increase from $17.8 billion received in the same period last year.
A country-wise breakdown shows that Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in December, with overseas Pakistanis sending $813 million during the month. This represented a 6% increase compared to December 2024 and was 8% higher than the $753 million received in November.
Remittance inflows from the United Arab Emirates rose 15% year-on-year to $726 million in December, up from $631 million a year earlier. Transfers from the United Kingdom amounted to $560 million, reflecting a 28% increase on a yearly basis and a 16% rise compared to November.
Overseas Pakistanis in the United States remitted $302 million during December. While this was 1% lower than the amount sent in the same month last year, it marked a 9% increase on a monthly basis. Remittances from European Union countries totalled $499 million, posting a sharp 39% year-on-year increase.
