China's HISENSE eyes investment in Pakistan, partners with Air Link subsidiary for home appliances manufacturing

Select Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Link Communication Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with HISENSE, a global leader in consumer electronics.

“As part of this partnership, HISENSE has expressed its intention to make a direct investment in the venture in the near future, reflecting its long-term commitment to the Pakistani market,” Air Link Communication shared this development through a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.

The partnership will also focus on the manufacturing and distribution of home appliances, including Smart TVs and Air Conditioners, within Pakistan.

“Select Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Link Communication Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with HISENSE, a leading global consumer electronics brand with a group revenue of USD 30.24 billion, for the manufacturing and distribution of home appliances in Pakistan, including Smart TVs and Air Conditioners,” read the notice.

Hisense is a major Chinese multinational electronics and home appliance manufacturer, known globally for its TVs, refrigerators, and air conditioners.

Air Link said that the deal combines HISENSE’s technological expertise with Air Link’s established local manufacturing capabilities and widespread distribution network. This collaboration is set to increase the availability of high-quality home appliances across Pakistan, tailored to local consumer needs.

The alliance aligns with the growing trend of foreign companies investing in Pakistan’s manufacturing sector, enhancing local production while meeting the increasing demand for modern home appliances.

This move is expected to strengthen the local economy, provide consumers with access to premium products, and offer more employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
