US envoy concludes Sindh visit, pledges deeper economic cooperation with Pakistan
Natalie Baker’s engagements span industry, interfaith dialogue and Hyderabad cricket stadium

United States Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Pakistan during an official visit to Sindh province from January 25 to 31, the US Mission said on Saturday.
Baker met political leaders, local representatives and members of the business community across Sindh to advance shared priorities in trade, business expansion and technology cooperation. The engagements aimed to promote economic growth and regional stability, according to a statement issued at the conclusion of the visit.
In Sukkur, she visited the Continental Biscuits manufacturing facility, a joint venture involving US-based Mondelēz International, which officials described as an example of cross-border industrial collaboration. In Mirpurkhas, she inspected a sugar mill and an ethanol, CO₂ and paper complex, where she was briefed on operations aimed at reducing waste, adding value to agricultural output and supporting export-oriented production.
The visit also included stops beyond the commercial sector. In Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana, Baker paid respects at the Bhutto family mausoleum, while separate meetings with Hindu community leaders focused on interfaith harmony and the protection of religious freedom and civil liberties.
Highlighting shared cultural interests, Baker visited Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad, where the US Mission linked sports cooperation to broader bilateral ties. Officials noted that cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and plans for a new Pakistan Super League franchise in Hyderabad—backed by a US-based investor—reflect growing connections beyond traditional diplomacy.
The US Mission said the Sindh engagements were part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic links, reinforce institutional cooperation and expand shared prosperity between Pakistan and the United States.
