Federal Board of Revenue has instructed a wide range of businesses, service providers and professionals to register, install and link their electronic invoicing hardware and software with its computerized income tax system, according to an official notification.
Under SRO 288(I)/2026 issued late Wednesday, entities notified by the board must provide details of outlets, points of sale and e‑invoicing transactions through the FBR’s online platform to remain compliant with income tax rules. No supply is to be made by an integrated enterprise except through systems connected with the board’s network.
The list of enterprises required to complete integration includes restaurants, hostels, motels, guest houses, marriage halls, marquees, clubs including race clubs, inter‑city road transport operators, courier and cargo services, personal care service providers such as beauty parlours and clinics, all medical practitioners including dentists and physiotherapists, veterinary doctors and pathological laboratories.
