Kerosene price drops by Rs4.45, light diesel rises by Rs17.03

The government has revised petroleum product prices, lowering kerosene rates while increasing prices of light diesel following changes in global oil markets and exchange rate pressures.

According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), kerosene prices have been reduced by Rs4.45 per litre to Rs360.76 per litre.

In contrast, light diesel oil has increased by Rs17.03 per litre, taking the new price to Rs287.54 per litre.

Earlier on Friday, the government raised the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs19.39 per litre and petrol by Rs6.51 per litre for a one-week period. HSD is now priced at Rs399.58 per litre, up from Rs380.19, while petrol has increased to Rs399.86 per litre from Rs393.35.

Officials said the adjustments reflect movements in international oil prices and supply disruptions linked to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz amid the Iran-US conflict.

High-speed diesel is widely used in transport and agriculture, and the increase in its price is expected to impact the agriculture sector.
