The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise and Taxation Department collected Rs5.136 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period last year.

Officials said the department had recorded Rs4,314.6 million in collections during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, with the current year’s figure showing an increase of Rs822.2 million.

The performance was reviewed in a monthly meeting on tax recovery chaired by KP Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan.

During the meeting, officials presented a comparative assessment of tax collection up to March 2026 against annual targets, noting progress during the July–March period of fiscal year 2025–26.

The minister directed officers to ensure achievement of revenue targets by the end of the fiscal year, stating that there would be no flexibility in meeting assigned goals.

He also acknowledged the performance of officers who met their targets during the review period.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khalid Ilyas, Director General Excise Abdul Halim Khan, Additional Director General, directors and other officials from Peshawar and district offices, with some participants joining via video link.
