PSW, TDAP sign agreement to digitise trade services

The Pakistan Single Window and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the digitalisation of Pakistan’s trade ecosystem and improve access to integrated services for exporters and importers.

Under the agreement, Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will work together to streamline export facilitation processes and connect TDAP’s digital platforms, including the Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory, with the broader PSW system.

According to a statement, the integration is aimed at giving traders real-time access to trade-related information and services while reducing dependence on manual procedures.

PSW, which leads Pakistan’s digital trade transformation initiatives, will provide the digital infrastructure for the reforms, while TDAP will use its network of regional offices, trade associations and international partners to identify stakeholders that can benefit from paperless trade systems.

The agreement also allows PSW to participate in TDAP’s domestic events to promote adoption of digital trade tools among exporters and importers.

Both organisations will also collaborate on secure trade data-sharing to support market analysis and evidence-based policymaking for the trade sector.

As part of the initiative, PSW and TDAP will jointly prepare export-readiness toolkits and compliance checklists to help small and medium-sized enterprises meet international market requirements.

The MoU also includes measures aimed at improving export readiness and digital inclusion of women-led businesses. Entrepreneurs associated with the WTO Award-winning Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Programme will be encouraged to participate in international exhibitions and trade delegations organised under TDAP’s annual business plan.

Chief Executive Officer of PSW Aftab Haider said the partnership would support efforts to create a more integrated and inclusive trade ecosystem. He said the collaboration would help TDAP use PSW’s data systems for targeted trade promotion initiatives, particularly for women entrepreneurs, while PSW would benefit from TDAP’s trade promotion expertise.

The agreement also includes joint training sessions under which PSW will provide orientation to TDAP officials on digital modules and regulatory updates to improve coordination and service delivery for the trade community.
