Cherat Packaging Limited (CPPL) has brought a new extrusion facility online for its flexible packaging division, adding production capacity through the commissioning of a barrier film extrusion line and related equipment, the company said on Monday.
In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the packaging manufacturer said the newly installed plant represents its second extrusion line and has been successfully commissioned.
The company said the equipment was procured from Windmoller & Holscher, a globally recognised supplier of packaging machinery.
According to CPPL, the additional extrusion line is expected to significantly increase the production capacity of its flexible packaging business, allowing the company to respond more effectively to customer demand while improving the utilisation of existing resources.
The expansion comes as the company continues to broaden its footprint beyond its traditional cement-sector customer base. In addition to supplying packaging materials to cement manufacturers, CPPL also serves the sugar, chemical and other allied industries.
Incorporated in 1989, Cherat Packaging is one of Pakistan’s largest producers of industrial packaging materials. The company has an annual production capacity of 265 million paper bags and 195 million polypropylene bags.
The latest investment strengthens the company’s flexible packaging operations and adds to its manufacturing capabilities as demand for specialised packaging products continues to grow.
