Pakistan’s IT exports climb to record $4.5bn in FY2025-26
Exports increase from $3.475bn as tech firms expand into Asia-Pacific markets and diversify beyond the US and Europe
Pakistan's information technology (IT) exports reached a record $4.5 billion in FY2025-26, up from $3.475 billion in the previous fiscal year, as the sector maintained steady growth and expanded into new international markets.
The increase was driven by Pakistani technology firms, particularly small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), which expanded their presence in Asia-Pacific (APAC) markets, including Japan and Singapore, while reducing reliance on the United States and Europe.
Besides software development, export growth was supported by Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and gaming.
Nagesh Devata, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Payoneer, said the growth reflected sustained global demand for Pakistan's digital services and the industry's focus on diversifying revenue across multiple markets.
He added that Payoneer is supporting Pakistani exporters through multi-currency payment services, enabling businesses to receive payments in major currencies, including the US dollar, euro, British pound, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, Japanese yen and Singapore dollar.
