PSO, law enforcers bust oil theft syndicate on Sihala–ARL pipeline
Suspects were caught extracting fuel from the pipeline, while two trucks, around 2,000 litres of diesel and illegal tapping equipment were seized.
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Law Enforcement Agencies have intercepted an organised oil theft syndicate operating on the Sihala–ARL pipeline, arresting suspects during a joint operation on the night of July 15–16, 2026.
According to a PSO statement, the operation began after monitoring systems detected a sudden pressure drop in the pipeline at 11:45 pm.
Based on prior intelligence and continued surveillance of a suspected site on Kahuta Road, PSO alerted the law enforcement agencies, which moved to the location.
The suspects were caught at around 2:15 am while allegedly extracting petroleum products illegally from the pipeline.
Authorities seized two Shahzore/Hyundai trucks carrying around 800 litres of high-speed diesel. Another 1,000 litres were recovered from storage tanks, while at least 200 litres were found in drums and 20- and 50-litre cans.
Equipment used for illegally tapping the pipeline was also confiscated.
The suspects, vehicles, recovered diesel and equipment were handed over to the Sihala Police for investigation and legal proceedings.
PSO said the operation was carried out through real-time monitoring, actionable intelligence and coordination with law enforcement agencies.
