Govt hikes petrol by Rs3.66, diesel by Rs4.80 per litre
Petrol rises to Rs335.18/litre and diesel to Rs383.46/litre for July 25

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Friday increased the ex-depot price of petrol by Rs3.66 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs4.80 per litre under the revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
The new rates will remain applicable for July 25, 2026.
According to the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the ex-depot price of petrol from Rs331.52 per litre to Rs335.18 per litre, an increase of Rs3.66 per litre.
Similarly, the ex-depot price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been raised from Rs378.66 per litre to Rs383.46 per litre, reflecting an increase of Rs4.80 per litre.
The revised prices are applicable for July 25, 2026, under the government's recently introduced daily fuel pricing regime, which replaced the previous weekly and fortnightly pricing systems.
Under the new mechanism, OGRA revises petroleum prices daily in line with fluctuations in international oil prices and exchange rate movements.
The increase in petrol prices is expected to raise fuel costs for private motorists and motorcycle users, while the higher diesel price may have a broader economic impact, as HSD is the primary fuel used by heavy transport vehicles, public transport, agricultural machinery and tube wells, potentially increasing transportation, freight and farming costs.
