Livestock sector to be transformed on modern lines: CM Buzdar

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the provincial government is committed to transforming the livestock sector on modern lines.

The chief minister said this after inaugurating a ‘Veterinary Academy’ at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences on Tuesday.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the state-of-the-art Academy, Punjab Livestock Minister Sardar Hasnain Bahadar Dhareshak said the government is taking steps to improve the life of farmers by paying attention to the livestock breeding, dairies, free zones, and domestic poultry.

He said that the establishment of this academy is aimed at providing professional training and creating skilled labour TO the livestock industry, as southern Punjab is heavily relying on livestock as a source of income.

“Our foremost priority is to provide good quality meat and milk to the general public and for this, we are no stone unturned,” he claimed.
