Lahore to establish 10 model bazaars

DC Syed Musa Raza directs officials to finalize arrangements by February 24 and ensure Ramazan bazaars are operational on time

LAHORE: The district administration has decided to set up 10 model bazaars across the city to provide quality products at wholesale rates.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza chaired a meeting on Saturday to review the plan, with key officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner General Muhammad Shojain Vistro and GM Model Bazaar Saddam Khokhar in attendance.

Each tehsil will host a market with 10 shops, with seven selling fruits, vegetables, lentils, spices, and essentials, while three will be reserved for meat products. Vendors will be required to adhere to the market committee’s rate list to ensure affordability and quality for consumers.

The deputy commissioner emphasized the need for dedicated counters for women, senior citizens, and regular shoppers to streamline the shopping process. He also directed officials to finalize arrangements by February 24 and ensure Ramazan bazaars are operational well before the holy month.
