Two arrested in Peshawar for manufacturing and dealing counterfeit currency

The local police arrested two individuals accused of manufacturing and distributing counterfeit currency in Peshawar.

Superintendent of Police (City) Syed Atiq Shah informed the media that the suspects, Murad and Taj Muhammad, were originally from Shabqadar and Gulbahar but had been residing in the Mohmandabad area.

According to the police, the duo had set up a counterfeit currency operation at a house in Mohmandabad. They are believed to have been involved in producing and distributing fake currency across various cities.

During the arrest, authorities recovered counterfeit Pakistani currency worth Rs1.2 million, along with the equipment used in the operation. The seized items included printers, drying machines, special paper, cutters, printing plates, and lasers.

The police have initiated further investigations into the matter.
