Key OGRA roles remain vacant, affecting policy decisions

A summary for the appointments is sent to the relevant authorities, but there is no clarity on when the positions are filled

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is still awaiting the appointment of two key members, Member Gas and Member Finance, needed to complete its commission and move forward with important decisions.

An official from the Petroleum Division told Business Recorder that a summary for the appointments of Member Oil and Member Finance has been sent to the relevant authorities, but there is no clarity on when the positions will be filled.

Without these appointments, the OGRA chairman is unable to take major decisions, as certain matters require a full quorum before policies can be made.

The official said that completing the commission is necessary for the proper functioning of the authority.
