Sindh board proposes wage hike for skilled and unskilled workers

The proposed rates set minimum wages at Rs40,000 for unskilled, Rs41,280 for semi-skilled, Rs48,910 for skilled, and Rs50,868 for highly skilled workers

KARACHI: The Sindh Minimum Wages Board has proposed new monthly minimum wages for workers across different skill levels, according to a statement issued on Saturday.

The proposed rates, effective from July 1, 2025, set the minimum wage for unskilled workers at Rs40,000, semi-skilled workers at Rs41,280, skilled workers at Rs48,910, and highly skilled workers at Rs50,868.

The board has invited objections from concerned stakeholders, who must submit them to the relevant department within 14 days.

All industrial units in Sindh, whether registered or unregistered, will be required to pay the new minimum wages once implemented.

Secretary of the Minimum Wages Board, Muhammad Naeem Mangi, shared the details in the official communication.
