The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) recorded a 35% increase in revenue collection during the first half of the current fiscal year, collecting Rs149.5 billion between July and December, compared to Rs112.1 billion in the same period last year, according to an official statement issued by the authority.Â
The increase reflects higher collections across provincial taxes during the first six months of the fiscal year. A PRA spokesperson said the growth followed reforms aimed at improving tax administration and strengthening compliance.
The authority attributed the rise in revenue to changes in tax collection processes and measures introduced to improve transparency and efficiency within the system.
Provincial officials said the higher revenue intake is expected to support financial stability and help ensure funding for ongoing development and welfare projects across Punjab.
