Pakistan, Iran reaffirm commitment to boost bilateral trade at AlUla conference
Finance ministers discuss investment opportunities, agree to remove trade bottlenecks

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb on Sunday met Seyed Ali Madanizadeh, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to discuss measures to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference 2026 for Emerging Market Economies, according to an official statement.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment, in line with the direction of the leadership of the two countries, to increase the volume of bilateral trade. They emphasised the need for sustained engagement, trade facilitation and the removal of existing bottlenecks to achieve this objective.
The Iranian side highlighted sector-specific opportunities for investment and market collaboration aimed at deepening economic ties, which were welcomed by the Pakistani finance minister.
The Iranian minister also invited Aurangzeb to visit Iran, while the finance minister extended a reciprocal invitation to visit Islamabad.
