Pakistan Customs, Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Hyderabad, seized non-custom-paid vehicles, smuggled goods, and petroleum products worth more than Rs77 million during intelligence-based operations carried out between June 15 and 21.
According to official details, the operations were conducted under the guidance of the Federal Board of Revenue as part of the anti-smuggling campaign.
Customs enforcement teams intercepted 21 non-custom paid vehicles with an estimated market value of about Rs61 million. The seized vehicles included passenger and commercial units.
Officials said the vehicles were detained after those in possession of them failed to provide valid customs documents proving lawful import into the country.
In separate actions, the Collectorate seized six consignments of smuggled goods valued at around Rs10.098 million. The confiscated items included electronic goods, Indian-origin banned tobacco products, industrial materials and textile products.
The goods were being transported in violation of the Customs Act, 1969, and other applicable laws.
Customs teams also seized two consignments of smuggled petroleum products, including 15,000 litres of High-Speed Diesel and smuggled petrol. The petroleum products had a combined market value of approximately Rs5.867 million.
Pakistan Customs has initiated legal proceedings against those involved under the Customs Act, 1969, and other relevant laws.
Investigations are underway to identify the wider smuggling networks linked to the seized vehicles, goods and fuel.
Officials said Pakistan Customs would continue intelligence-led enforcement operations to curb smuggling, protect lawful trade and prevent revenue losses.
