Customs Intellectual Property Rights enforcement cases rise 24% in FY26
Pakistan Customs registers 201 seizure and forfeiture cases involving counterfeit goods worth Rs7.7bn, up from 162 cases last year

Pakistan Customs registered a 24% increase in Intellectual Property Rights enforcement actions during FY26, with 201 seizure and forfeiture cases compared to 162 cases in the previous year.
According to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement, the cases involved counterfeit and trademark-infringing goods worth an estimated Rs7.7 billion.
The seized goods included luxury items, textiles, automobile parts, cosmetics, footwear, consumer durables and other counterfeit merchandise.
The Directorate said the increase reflected stronger enforcement against counterfeit and pirated goods across Pakistan through border controls.
IPRE Director General Abdul Qadir Memon said Pakistan Customs would continue strengthening enforcement capacity through training, modern risk management techniques and cooperation with stakeholders.
He said Customs would further improve border enforcement to prevent the import, export and transit of counterfeit and pirated goods and protect consumers.
