Beco Steel Limited has announced plans to diversify its operations by setting up a new production line for deformed steel bars, supported by a 5-megawatt solar power plant, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.
The company said the project will include the installation of a state-of-the-art steel furnace and a continuous casting mill with an annual production capacity of 72,000 tons of rebars.Â
The expansion will be fully self-financed, with no external borrowing.
Beco Steel stated that the land required for the project has already been acquired, and construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026. The move aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy and anticipation of rising demand in the domestic steel market.
The company also noted that it continues to record positive sales growth and operates debt-free, with no borrowings from financial institutions.
Beco Steel, which operates in both ferrous and non-ferrous segments catering to local and export markets, said the addition of a solar power plant will improve cost efficiency and sustainability in its upcoming expansion phase.
